Hi. My problem is this. I can download certain books from certain web sites, and when I convert them to word pad, all that comes up is a bunch of garbage. How do I get to the right thing that makes them readable? If anyone can help me with this problem, it would be appreciated. And why is it just garbage and not the text of the book itself. Other books I download are just fine. Thanks.

if the file says something.doc, shouldn't it be readable??

If it's in word 2007 format then it may not work.

Well, the web site where I downloaded from, and whose book I couldn't read, and whose book I previously downloaded from sent me the book I wanted via e-mail in something like rtf format. How do I change from one format to another, and will this affect other books I can read now. I read their book just fine in that format. But the gentlemen who converted it, doesn't remember me, so if I want a book in the rtf format, I have to keep on repeating myself. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated. The web site is called the Bourgho Minister, and the downloads are free. (I think I spelled the name right, but I'll check). Thanks.
